Uploading images for using within text

You can brighten up your web site by adding images to the text on the page. This crib sheet will walk you through how to achieve this.

Start by accessing your website admin page.

Log in if necessary

Select Website Builder

Select Public Site

There is a central location for all "in-text" images to be loaded for the site. This makes it possible to place the same image on more than one page.

Select Image Uploads

Adding Images Screen 1

Select View Linked Images button

Scroll down to Add Image to Node Section

This will present you with the thumbnails of previously loaded images if present.

There are two boxes to complete:

Image to Load - This is the location and name of the image on your computer.

A short description - this is a short description to make the image more accessible, try to make this unique within your site as it will make this process easier. Short and meaningful is the key here.

Select the Browse button next to the Image to Load box.

Locate the image you wish to load on your computer and select the open button - the local file path and name should appear in the Image to load box.

Now enter a short description and select the Save Changes button.

The maximum filesize of your image cannot exceed 2MB, the system will automatically resize your uploaded image for the web and create a thumbnail for it as well.

Wait for feedback at the top of the screen - this may flicker or appear only briefly.

You have now added an image to the system ready for use. To check this Select View Linked Images button and your loaded image should be there.

The next activity is an Introduction to using images.
