Adding images within text

Here we can change the layout of the blog article, or your web page by adding images and resizing images.

Go to your web admin site

Select Website Builder

Select Blog Manager

Select View from the Article Summary you wish to edit.

Remember to upload your image to place within text. If you have not done that please do it now.

Popular web pages

Within the full article section, locate a position in the text where you would like to see an image inserted. In this case I want to position an image to above this paragraph. Locate the image on your computer and examine the properties, remember you can only upload images less than 2MB. Calculate your aspect ratio as shorter side divided by longer side. Let us assume that the width of the space on the webpage is 470px, the height does not matter much because web pages can grow in height.

Click on the Insert/Edit Image icon - hint: second row of icons on far right, looks like picture of a green tree. This will present a new popup window, shown below.

Insert-Edit Image popup

We have eight editable elements on the popup window.

Image URL - if you have uploaded the image into the concentric admin site, this will be populated automatically. You may however, enter the full URL of an image located elsewhere on the web. The full URL means it starts with http://... for example.

Popular web pages

As you can see, the Popular Pages image is too large 620 x 310 pixels, and has to be sized to fit the page.  For effect I will make it a third of its size, so I simply divide each of the width and height by 3 to get 210 x 103 pixels.

Now try to resize your existing image

Select  the image with a single click from within the Full Article area, then click on the Insert/Edit image icon.

This brings the popup window back, simply insert your new width and height value in that order, i.e. width in the left box.

Then select the Update button.

Select Save Changes to update the blog and view the changes.
