How to create a New Item For Sale

You can create items for sale and group them according to what they are and how they can be used in your business.

 

An item for sale is an item or product that is purchased from a supplier and either sold to a customer without any changes, or some changes are made and then sold to a customer.

 

To create a New Item for Sale

Go to your admin site

Select Products and Services

Select Items for Sale

Select New Web Product

New Items for Sale

 

Product Code - Enter a unique code for your item

Product Name - Enter the name of your item

Short Synopsis - A brief description of what the item is

Sales Mode - Select the correct option according to the type of this item

  • Not for Sale - The item is just for the record but not for sale
  • Standard Item - A single item
  • Accessory Only  -  This is an item that is an accessory for a previously purchased item
  • Discrete Bundle - This item is a standard bundle (A bundle being a number of products that are grouped together). The bundle is created for a specific purpose and contains different products. The complete bundle has a single price set to it.
  • Discount Bundle - This is also a bundle but in this case, the customer would know prices of each product that is present in this bundle. The customer would receive a discount if they buy this bundle.

Bundle Options -  Can this item be put into a bundle or BOM (Bill Of Material). Select the correct option

  • Not in BOM or Bundle
  • Only in BOM
  • Can BOM or Bundle

Please note: Depending on the option you choose, you will later be able to make amendments. For example, if the product can be in a BOM, then the option to add or edit information to the BOM will be available, and if it is in a bundle then you will be able to add or edit information for the bundle.

Purchasing Options - Select the correct option according to the purchasing options for this item

  • Not Known - this is the default
  • Own Stock - it is your own company stock
  • Own Service - it is your own company service
  • Stock Ordered In - it is stock ordered from a supplier
  • Services Ordered In - it is a service from a supplier
  • Supplier to Customer - it is the supplier's responsibility to deliver this product to the customer. Therefore, this is entered just for the inventory

Discontinued -  Select 'Yes' if the item is in stock but cannot be re-ordered anymore.

Status - Please select the one of these option:

  • Offline - The item will not be available anywhere (it is in drafts)
  • Online - This item is available online
  • Back office only - Only the people who are logged in on the Admin site have access to this item

Pricing Options -  Please select the correct option:

  • Item Pricing - Select this option if the price is unique to this item
  • Group Pricing - Select this option if this product shares the same price structure as other products of the same type.

VAT Status - Select the VAT according to the band this item comes under

  • Zero rated
  • Standard VAT
  • Reduced VAT A
  • Reduced VAT B

Product Keywords - Enter keywords that are appropriate for this item and can be used for SEO.

Full Description - Enter a detailed description of the item being created

 

When you are done, select Save

 

Check the update screen to see if the product has been created
